- FIRST USE: HEAT PAN & WIPE OIL Before first cooking, wash and dry the pan completely, then preheat it and wipe a thin layer of cooking oil across the surface. With proper heating, oiling, and regular care, the carbon steel surface gradually develops a natural patina for easier food release over time.
