The wide blade profile also doubles as a scoop to move ingredients from cutting board to pan, reducing the need to switch between multiple knives during prep.

Each blade is hand-forged from high-carbon steel using a traditional Serbian forging technique: repeated heating and hammering that aligns the steel for strength, balance, and edge retention. High-carbon steel takes a finer edge than stainless and holds it longer through dense cutting work, making the Promaja capable of clean slicing through proteins, vegetables, and tough cuts without frequent resharpening.
